Sensex Tanks 1,176 Points, Nifty Below 23,600; Nestle India, HDFC Life, ICICI Bank in Red
The Indian stock market ended on a negative note as Sensex closed at 78,041.59, down 1.49% while Nifty dragged at 23,587.50, down by 1.52%.

The Indian stock market ended on a negative note as Sensex closed at 78,041.59, down 1.49% while Nifty dragged at 23,587.50, down by 1.52%.
Gainers included Dr Reddy's Labs, Nestle India, HDFC Life, ICICI Bank, while Trent, Tech Mahindra, M&M, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank were having a tough day. All sectoral indices ended in red wherein the realty index slipped by 4%. Auto, IT, capital goods, metal, telecom, PSU banks were down by 2% each. Market capitalisation of BSE-listed fell over ₹19 lakh crore.
Notably, the market witnessed its biggest-ever fall in 2 years. Nifty and Sensex fell over 4% each.
